City of Forssa is investing in bio-fuels and on its region. The main idea of the biorefinery is that every plant is connected and partially dependent on each other so that the output from a plant A is fuel for the plant B. The idea is that the region could gradually be self-sufficient energy provider, create jobs and be the forerunner in bio-energy in Finland and in Europe. Gaia Consulting is specialised in bio-fuels and bio-energy. The consultants calculated what would be the benefits of this kind of biorefinery for the region. The client also wanted the information to be easily communicated to the citizens and decision makers and asked for an informative illustration.
